“Belly Up” Fundraiser

Annual ADRC “Black Tie” Event Promises Fun, Laughs and Money for Community Caregiver Programs

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS—Sitting down, attendees at one of Orlando’s most unique fundraisers will seem quite spiffy and formal. Standing up, they may appear quite silly, donning casual clothing from the waist down from skirts, shorts and jeans to pajama bottoms.

The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center’s (ADRC) largest fundraising event of the year— the fifth annual signature “Black Tie from the Waist High”—will be held on Friday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Hilton Altamonte Springs in Altamonte Springs.

Last year, ADRC raised more than $16,000, bringing the total raised to nearly $50,000 since the “Black Tie” event began in 2007. With an average attendance of 160 people, the crowd has steadily increased year after year.

The evening features dinner, and silent and live auctions. All proceeds benefit community programs for caregivers seeking resources and support. Pre-registration is required; tickets are $100 and include two drink vouchers.
