Dr. Penoyer has conducted research into the impact different types of care on ventilator events have on patient discharge outcomes and the impact multidisciplinary and multimodal care has on sepsis outcomes. Her research is an outstanding contribution to the nursing profession. As an inaugural fellow in the National Clinical Nurse Specialist Association, Dr. Penoyer is recognized for her dedication to nursing and healthcare leadership and scholarship. She is a role model of excellence in both the teaching and ethical practice of critical care and is the first nurse at Orlando Health to receive these prestigious awards and national recognition.
