Florida Hospital for Women is now offering walk-in screening mammograms for women 40 years of age and older. Screening mammograms are a preventative test that check for signs of breast cancer in women who don’t have any symptoms or previous abnormal mammograms.

By offering screening mammograms without the need for a referral or prescription from a physician, Florida Hospital hopes to encourage more women to get their recommended screenings. Fewer than half of all Central Florida women eligible for mammograms follow through with their annual screenings.

The digital screenings are available from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Center for Women’s Wellness, located on the first floor of the women’s tower at Florida Hospital Orlando. Valet parking is available for the convenience of patients.
