Lake-Sumter Medical Society and We Care of Lake County are offering their 1st Annual “Docs CARE” Golf Tournament to be held Friday afternoon, May 15, at the challenging Los Colinas course at Mission Inn, Howie-in-the-Hills. $100/person entry entitles you to a relaxing barbeque lunch prepared by the chefs at Mission Inn, cart fees, a goody bag, 18 holes of golf, and plenty of opportunities to test your skills at our putting contest, longest drive and hole in one contests. Our fast paced live auction (during lunch) will offer a golf trip for 2 to Ireland, a golf trip for 2 to San Francisco, or a delightful culinary class for 2 in Italy! Don’t golf? Come join us for lunch and the fun auction!

LAKE-SUMTER MEDICAL SOCIETY HEALTH INSURANCE TRUST has had a successful enrollment period with positive feedback from “old” members and “new” recruits. The open enrollment has officially been closed; however, if your office missed the deadline and would like information concerning this cost saving health insurance opportunity, please call the LSMS office for possibilities.

DR. SHELLEY COLEMAN GLOVER and DR. ERNESTO ZAVALETA recently attended the AMA Advocacy Conference in Washington DC, hearing dynamic speakers on issues facing physicians nationwide. Their experience has re-energized their passion to encourage physicians to stand up and be counted with a take-home message of “Change is coming, embrace it or be left behind!”
