SCMS Members are Going to Haiti

A handful of SCMS members are planning a trip to Haiti, Nov. 19 – 22, to help SCMS member, Dr. Gousse, treat patients. Armed with only their stethoscope and blood pressure cuffs, the physicians will be seeing a range of patients with ailments including high blood pressure, gastric ulcers, worms in children, and fevers. Earlier this year, SCMS helped Dr. Gousse to raise over $9,000 in donations to help complete the new hospital being built in Haiti. Since then, work has been completed on the shell for the new clinic and operating room. This October Dr. Gousse will be going back with an electrician, who is donating time and materials to the finishing process.
