OCMS INSTALLS 101ST PRESIDENT

Arnold M. Einhorn, MD, was sworn in as the 101st president of the Orange County Medical Society at the annual installation of officers held Sat., Jan. 10. Dr. Einhorn was trained in internal medicine and cardiology at State University of New York. His main area of specialization has been all aspects of clinical cardiology with a special interest in cardiac catheterization, pacemakers, cardiac echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and medical teaching. He is board certified in internal medicine and subspecialty of cardiovascular disease. He holds the appointment of associate clinical professor of medicine from the University of Florida. Dr. Einhorn also serves as chief of staff at Orlando Health.

WELCOME 2009 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The 2009 OCMS officers are Kevin Sherin, MD, president-elect; Siva Sivanesan, MD, vice-president; Ravi Jahagirdar, MD, secretary; Sarah Willard, MD, treasurer and Robert Rothbard, MD, immediate past president. OCMS board members are Laurence Brenner, MD; Michelle Cabrera, MD; James Crum, MD; Michael Muszynski, MD; Steven Rosenberg, MD; Stacy Seikel, MD; Annapurna Pattisapu, MD; Steele Lancaster, Ann Lopez and Renuka Sivanesan.

The OCMS Board of Directors and staff wish to thank our board members who recently completed their terms. Connie Micklavzina, MD, and Oswald Saavedra, MD, have served OCMS through their attendance at meetings and events, and by supporting the mission and goals of the society. They have provided excellent guidance and we appreciate them very much. Additionally, a special "Thank You" goes to our outgoing president, Robert Rothbard MD. Dr. Rothbard will remain on the board as immediate past president and we look forward to his continued leadership and involvement in the society.

DOCTOR OF THE DAY PROGRAM SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR 2009 LEGISLATIVE SESSION

The 2009 Legislative Session will begin Tues., March 3, and is scheduled to adjourn on Fri., May 1. The Florida Office of Legislative Services is seeking two physicians for each day of the legislative session, one for the House of Representatives and one for the Senate, to volunteer in the Capitol clinic.
