SCMS Office Managers’ Luncheon


The Seminole County Medical Society in partnership with South Seminole Hospital recently held an Office Managers’ Luncheon on Oct. 15, for all of the member offices of the medical society. Martine Rape gave a very informative talk on documentation issues while the office managers enjoyed lunch. Other office manager luncheon topics include OSHA, HIPPA, staffing, self-help and Medicare. SCMS office manager luncheons are held four times a year, usually from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheons are free to office managers of SCMS members, but seating is limited and reservations are required. SCMS Annual Meeting


The Seminole County Medical Society will hold its Annual Meeting on Nov. 18, at Heathrow Country Club in Heathrow, Fla. Members are encouraged to bring their spouse to this big event and enjoy an evening of fellowship with their colleagues. The medical society will be holding its annual elections at this meeting at which time the 2009 officers for the society will be named. Any members interested in joining one of the SCMS committees for 2009 please contact the SCMS office at 407-804-9535 or scms@scmsociety.com as soon as possible. SCMS members will also have an opportunity to visit the exhibit tables prior to the start of dinner and learn about the many medically related businesses in our area. The society is very excited to have Michelle Collier from Safe House of Seminole at the meeting who will be speaking on domestic violence. Other guest speakers include new FMA Alliance President, Dianne Andrews and members of the Healthy Seminole Project, an organization of local groups working together to provide long-term specialty care to those in need in Seminole County. As is done at every SCMS quarterly meeting, there will be a drawing where one lucky member will win $100 off their 2009 membership dues. Also, as a new benefit to society members, one SCMS member per quarterly meeting can receive $100 off the regular exhibit table rate, if two weeks prior to the meeting, there is still a table available.
