AdventHealth broke ground today on an emergency room and a first-of-its-kind health park that will expand access to care for residents of Kissimmee, St. Cloud and surrounding areas of Osceola County.

.

"We are reimagining the health-care experience based on extensive consumer research," said Dr. Scott Brady, AdventHealth's senior vice president of ambulatory services. "Visiting the health park will be a very seamless experience -- it's a one-stop shop with a single check-in and a single bill for all services."

.

The approximately 19,000-square-foot emergency room will have 24 patient rooms (including two pediatric-friendly rooms to make ER visits less stressful for young patients); respiratory therapy; diagnostic imaging, including CT scans, X-ray and ultrasound; and a full-service laboratory. The ER will be staffed by a comprehensive clinical team including board-certified emergency physicians and emergency nurses.

.

The adjacent two-story, 36,000-square-foot health park, will include primary and specialty care, imaging, outpatient sports medicine & rehab and lab services, as well as a full-service coffee shop in a single, convenient setting.

.

The health park will offer same-day appointments, expanded 7 a.m.-7 p.m. hours for patient convenience, and specially trained staff providing concierge-level service. All patient forms, registration and appointment scheduling can be done online from home, or at an on-site kiosk, for a completely paperless experience.

.

"We are pleased to grow our Osceola care network, making it easier for people across the county to access our services," said Sheila Rankin, CEO of AdventHealth Kissimmee. "Combining emergency, primary and specialty services in a single location advances our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ by providing whole-person care close to home."

.

The ER and health park will be located at 2510 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. Both facilities are expected to open in 2020.
