The Orange County Medical Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Chase, D.O. as the chair of the OCMS Delegation to the 2017 Florida Medical Association Annual Meeting. Dr. Chase practices with Anesthesiologists of Greater Orlando. He received his medical training at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Tampa General Hospital. In addition to serving in numerous capacities with the OCMS and the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, Chuck is currently the Chair of the FMA PAC 1,000 Club.

The FMA Annual Meeting is an opportunity for physicians across the state to come together to discuss the strategic direction of organized medicine. In his capacity as Chair, Dr. Chase will preside over the largest County Medical Society Delegation in the state. In addition to selecting the future leaders of the FMA, the Delegation will have an important role in crafting and debating resolutions that will champion issues or focus resources of organized medicine on strategic initiatives. In recent years the OCMS has supported issues of importance for physicians in our community including relief from the mandates of Maintenance of Certification and transparency in facility fees.

The FMA Annual Meeting is taking place August 4-6 at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort in Orlando, Florida. The OCMS is entitled to send 30 delegates to the meeting. Any active OCMS Member interested in volunteering to serve on the delegation should contact the OCMS Office, fraser@ocms.org.

Active members are welcome to submit resolutions to the OCMS Board of Directors for consideration. The deadline to submit resolutions to our office is May 1st.
