This past week, developer Ponte of PONTE HEALTH PROPERTIES, LLC, began work with Executives Phil Brown and Bradley Friel of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) in order to proceed with application and approval from the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), pushing VERTICAL MEDICAL CITY to 100 Feet Higher than the current Orlando skyline. Approval will mostly be dependent and driven by any affect on the Orlando Executive Airport, Brown shared.

Also this past week, PONTE HEALTH led the first Pre-Design Meeting with the Engineering Team. Firms to participate in the development of VMC ORL include PAUL J FORD, TLC ENGINEERING, JENSEN HUGHES, STACK ROCK GROUP, THE SPINNAKER GROUP, and M2O TECHNOLOGIES.

This week, on Thursday, VMC ORL has its scheduled Pre-Application Meeting with City Officials at City Hall including the Chief Planner and Zoning Official Mark Cechman, and Thomas Chatmon Economic Development Director of the Downtown Development Board, plus officials from Transportation and the Appearance Review Board; the group will discuss the site, project details and opportunities, and steps moving forward toward approvals to break ground in construction.

VMC ORL current projected timeline includes: (1) Approvals from Agencies with Jurisdiction in 2018, (2) A Site/Foundation Package for Application with the Permitting Department in 2019 to Break Ground later in the same year, (3) A Building Package for Application with the Permitting Department in 2020, (4) Building Construction start in 2020 or 2021, and (5) Completion for Occupancy by 2024.

VMC ORL is an Advanced Care Facility that will reintegrate, rather than isolate, our elderly into the urban fabric of Orlando.

The facility will serve those 60 and over in need for Assisted Living, eventually continuoulsy and through Hospice, due to Neurological and Muscular Degenerative Conditions (i.e. M.S., Parkinson's, Alzheimer's). The facility will include, among other things, a Brain Department covering Neurological specialties, a Body Department covering Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic specialties, a Mind Department covering Psychiatric and Psychological specialties and wellness, in addition to research facilities, Resident MD and RN living quarters, amenities, and more.

A major Health System has already stepped forward with intent to occupy an approximate 25-30% of the facility, to run the Emergency and Surgical components.
VMC ORL is seeking a single Equity Partner to join the group.
