OCALA —Positivity is the name of the game, and DOH-Marion’s BRAZEN program will help mothers, daughters and more learn how. The BRAZEN program is hosting a Positivi-Tea Brunch on Saturday, Nov. 9, for young women ages 11-19 and their mothers, female mentors, guardians and role models. The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at One Health Center (1714 SW 17th St., Ocala) and includes free food, giveaways and more.

Nationally recognized speaker and author Julia Marie Carrier will speak at the event. Her interactive presentation will focus on how to improve relationships through open communication (while building a teen’s self-esteem). It will also discuss different communications styles and how that affects how each person thinks, feels and reacts. The ultimate goal – help parental figures and children have healthy communication, which leads to healthy relationships.
