Ocala Health Celebrates Completion of Additional Cardiovascular and Surgery Expansion Projects

Ocala Regional Medical Center celebrates addition of 36-bed cardiovascular unit and West Marion Community Hospital celebrates addition of cardiovascular recovery space, cath lab & two OR suites

 

 

OCALA - Ocala Health held two virtual ribbon cutting ceremonies today to celebrate the completion of major projects at Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital.

 

The $31M expansion at Ocala Regional Medical Center added nearly 29,000 square feet of new space dedicated to cardiovascular inpatient services. This project includes the addition of 36 inpatient beds, bringing the total to 290 inpatient beds at Ocala Regional Medical Center. These 36 beds create a new, dedicated cardiac unit which includes a 10-bed CVICU, 10-bed CV step-down, and 16-bed cardiac procedural.

 

“The 36 bed dedicated cardiovascular unit, at Ocala Regional Medical Center, is just the latest demonstration of Ocala Health’s commitment to providing unsurpassed cardiac care for its patients.  These spacious, well-appointed, private rooms, combined with the latest monitoring technology and dedicated cardiovascular nursing staff, will provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients during their treatment and recovery.” says Omeni Osian, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgery Medical Director, Ocala Health.

 

The $27M expansion project at West Marion Community Hospital added nearly 13,000 square feet of new space. This project includes the addition of a second cath lab as well as the addition of a dedicated 10-bed, pre-post cath lab recovery unit. The completion of this expansion project also includes the addition of two large operating suites and support areas, bringing the total to 10 operating rooms.
