Inpatient rehabilitation is often needed for those who suffer from dysfunction from recent illness or conditions such as, not limited to, stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, brain injury, and neurological disorders.

At The Villages® Regional Hospital (TVRH), the goal is to offer excellent therapy and nursing in a caring environment to return patients to their normal activities of daily living as quickly as possible.

This week, TVRH Rehabilitation Hospital - a 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation center on the hospital's fifth floor - was recognized by the accrediting body CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) with a three-year accreditation. The recognition represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to a rehabilitation center.

"Accreditation provides our patients and the community the assurance that we meet high standards for patient care," said Delaine Guitian, Director of Rehabilitation Services at TVRH. "We are proud to achieve this level of accreditation and will continue to strive to meet and exceed the healthcare standards set by CARF as we provide integrated and compassionate care to our patients."

CARF's on-site survey summary unveiled many of TVRH Rehabilitation Hospital's strengths, including the leadership team's dedication as well as the staff's caring demeanor. The CARF survey executive summary stated, "It is evident that comprehensive, well organized rehabilitation programs are provided and delivered by competent, dedicated, and caring staff members. The organization has passionate leadership." The executive summary also provided positive feedback such as, "Patients reported high levels of satisfaction with services received and the caring nature of personnel."

TVRH Rehabilitation Hospital has been providing comprehensive care since July 2016. "It is important for patients to know that they can request to come here," continues Guitian. "While there are a number of options that may be provided by a patient's doctor and/or case manager, the patient has the ultimate choice. At TVRH Rehabilitation Hospital, you'll find a quicker and more comfortable path to recovery."
