Funds will help the Central Florida hospice agency recover unexpected costs from the COVID-19 pandemic and assist patients in need of food and other resources.

The Cornerstone Hospice Foundation is receiving a $25,000 boost from the West Orange Healthcare District to help maintain quality hospice care to the West Orange community.

The money will be used for Cornerstone’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund that is helping to pay for the unexpected costs of additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies and technology for staff who directly care for Cornerstone patients and their families. Additionally, the grant will assist vulnerable West Orange families in Cornerstone’s care with the purchase of groceries and to pay utility bills.

The Cornerstone Hospice Foundation invites residents across its Central Florida region that includes Orange, Osceola, Lake, Sumter, Hardee, Highlands and Polk counties to donate to the Cornerstone COVID-19 Emergency Fund to help with the cost of ensuring exceptional care to Cornerstone patients and their families.
