AdventHealth Orlando is the No. 1 Orlando-area hospital for the 10th consecutive year, and AdventHealth Waterman is ranked No. 3.
AdventHealth Orlando, AdventHealth Waterman and AdventHealth Daytona Beach have been recognized as Best Hospitals for 2020-21 by U.S. News & World Report.
The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 31st year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.
AdventHealth Orlando is ranked No. 1 in the Orlando metro area (an accolade that is shared collectively with all AdventHealth hospitals in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties) and No. 3 in Florida.
Statewide, AdventHealth Daytona Beach is ranked No. 19, AdventHealth Heart of Florida and AdventHealth Waterman tied for 28th.
AdventHealth Orlando was also recognized as having four nationally ranked specialty programs: diabetes and endocrinology; gynecology; nephrology; and neurology and neurosurgery.
In addition, AdventHealth Orlando was recognized for its six “high-performing” programs: cancer; gastroenterology and GI surgery; geriatrics; orthopedics; pulmonary and lung surgery; and urology.
AdventHealth Orlando also rated as “high performing” for treating patients 65 and older with the following conditions or procedures: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, colon cancer surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.

For the 2020-21 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 26 specialties, 10 procedures and conditions. In the 16 specialty areas, 134 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized best regional hospitals based on high performing rankings across multiple areas of care.

The U.S. News Best Hospitals methodologies in most areas of care are based largely on objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival and discharge-to-home rates, volume, and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators.
