The cancer center at Orlando Health is adding to its services with the hiring of a local specialist in urologic cancers.

Inoel Rivera, M.D., a board-certified urologist specializing in oncology, is joining the Urologic Cancer Center at Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center.

Dr. Rivera treats patients with cancers of the prostate, kidneys, bladder, testes, penis, and adrenal glands using primarily laparoscopic and robotic techniques.

“Central Florida has been my home for many years and I’m very fortunate to have had the opportunity to treat so many patients who have trusted their health to me,” says Dr. Rivera. “I look forward to working with a great team of colleagues at Orlando Health who share a passion for providing each patient the best care possible.”

Dr. Rivera earned his medical degree and completed his residency in urologic surgery at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.

He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Urological Association, the Florida Urological Society, Society of Urologic Oncology, and the Society of Laparascopic and Robotic Surgeons. He has been a surgeon for more than 20 years and is fluent in Spanish and English.
