The Seminole County Commission will proclaim November 13, "Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital Centennial Day." The proclamation, which is scheduled to occur at 9:30 a.m. in the Commission Chambers, is in recognition of the healthcare system's 100 years of caring for the community. The Orlando Health network, which was founded as Orange General Hospital in downtown Orlando, November 5, 1918, is currently celebrating its centennial anniversary.

Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital joined the healthcare network in 1992. The 206-bed acute care facility provides quality medical and behavioral health services. Located in Longwood, FL on State Road 434, South Seminole Hospital has served the community for more than 30 years. It is an accredited Chest Pain and Heart Failure Center and a designated Primary Stroke Center.
