Mental Health Association of Central Florida Appoints Marni Stahlman as New President/CEO

The Mental Health Association of Central Florida, providing mental health services, support and information to Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Brevard, & Lake Counties since 1946, has announced the appointment of Marni Stahlman to the position of President/CEO for the organization

 

Stahlman is succeeding Candice Crawford who is retiring as President/CEO after 11 years leading the organization.  

 

Crawford’s tenure saw several significant accomplishments that positioned the Association as a leading Advocacy voice not just in Central Florida but across the state of Florida.  Under her leadership she created, in 2010, the now notable annual Legacy of Champions Luncheon and the first Mental Health Clinic (The Outlook Clinic) in partnership with AdventHealth for the uninsured. “It has been an honor to work with the Mental Health Association of Central Florida and a great comfort to know the organization will be in the hands of an exceptional CEO with Marni’s breadth of experience and community knowledge said Crawford. 

 

In this role, Marni is responsible for the overall executive direction, funding, operations, and management of the Mental Health Association of Central Florida in order to ensure quality behavioral health care and advocacy for individuals seeking services.   Key responsibilities include setting strategic direction in collaboration with the Board of Directors, developing and implementing fundraising plans for direct financial support and in-kind contributions, developing and overseeing community partnerships and oversight of programming. 

 

Marni comes to the Mental Health Association of Central Florida as a noted C-Suite Executive with over 30 years of distinguished experience in the health and human services sector in Central Florida.  Most recently as Executive Director of the Conductive Education Center of Orlando (2019-2020), a center for children and adults with severe neurological motor disabilities and prior to that position as President/CEO of Shepherd’s Hope (2013-2019)the largest free and charitable organization providing free primary care and specialty care medical services to uninsured in Florida.
