Set to Open in Time for COVID-19 Relief, Flu-Season, & Holidays

American Family Care (AFC), the largest provider of urgent care in the country with more than 220 centers, is pleased to announce it will soon open a new urgent care facility in Hallandale Beach that will provide high-quality health care to surrounding residents as well as create more than a dozen new local jobs. The newest location at 2501 E. Hallandale Beach Boulevard in Hallandale Beach, Fla., is anticipating open its doors by the end of 2020.

Supporting public health is the premise of any health care facility yet providing customers with top of the line and the newest state-of-the-art equipment is what Hallandale Beach’s AFC is looking to contribute. COVID-19 has been brutal upon many in recent times, with an easy spread and little information. The new location will bring to the market one of the most accurate and reliable COVID-19 rapid tests: ID-NOW™. This technology for rapid and accurate testing – 95.0 percent sensitivity and 97.9 percent specificity – will alleviate many false-negative test results and 5-to-15 minute wait times for results will offset other tests with results that can linger up to a week or longer.

“Through the ardent work of bringing health to a community, I am so humbled to open this first location of American Family Care in Hallandale Beach to provide urgent and primary healthcare to an underserved market,” said AFC Hallandale Beach’s Chief Executive Officer, Antonia Boada de Tineo, MD. “I am excited to bring state-of-the-art equipment available through urgent and primary care treatment that will provide relief to many members of the surrounding community in these trying times.”

All AFC clinics are designed, equipped and staffed to provide accessible primary care, urgent care and minor emergency treatment. Each clinic features a high-tech approach, including digital x-rays, on-site lab testing, state-of-the-art diagnostics and electronic medical records. “Our AFC Urgent Care will feature a full suite of occupational medicine and workers’ compensation services,” said AFC Hallandale Beach’s Business Development Manager, Aris Garcia de Tineo, M.S. “These services include OSHA-mandated medical surveillance exams, D.O.T. and non-D.O.T. drug screens and physicals, and breath alcohol tests, among many other services, available in-person or virtually through telehealth apps.”

Under the supervision of Dr. Ronaldo Calonje, a Board-Certified Diplomate in Family Medicine, Fellowship-Trained in Sports Medicine, and an Urgent Care Specialist for nearly two decades, the Hallandale AFC location will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., no appointment is needed. Most major insurance plans and Medicare/Medicaid will be accepted, with self-pay rates available as well.
