Parrish Healthcare continues its holiday tradition of donating toys to North Brevard Charities Sharing Center (NBCSC) to benefit local children and families.

Since 1997, the Angel Tree initiative has provided toys to children; serving as a way to deliver joy during the holiday season to those in need. From the beginning, Parrish Healthcare care partners have been involved in this project which annually supports approximately 600 children. This has proven to be an experience that impacts not only those who receive the toys, but those who donate.

Parrish Medical Center Quality Manager Emily Leathers reflects on why it is special for her family to donate, especially during a year when the joy of the season is needed the most.

“I wanted to donate gifts this year because my husband and I have been so blessed in 2020. We wanted to give back to the community and bring joy to children’s lives,” said Leathers.

Through the community partnership with NBCSC, this year Parrish™ was able to donate enough toys to benefit over 170 local families.

“The smile and tears of happiness when we give to a family says it all. You can’t describe it. We assist hundreds of families a year during the holidays and we’re able to help in making it possible for everyone to experience a magical holiday season, despite their current circumstances,” said NBCSC Executive Director Joe Robinson. “Community partners like Parrish Medical Center provide us with invaluable resources to ensure we are able to continue our mission of serving our north Brevard families.”

“Every holiday season the healing hearts of our Parrish Healthcare care partners shine bright as we serve to fulfill our mission of Healing Experiences for Everyone All The Time®,” said Natalie Sellers, Senior Vice President, Communications, Community & Corporate Services. “This year particularly has shown us the amazing resilience of our healthcare heroes, the patients we have the honor to serve and of our community; and we are deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity being shared.”
