Completes successful rollout of 2,000 second-dose shots in two days

Melbourne, FL - OMNI Healthcare’s Board of Directors announced a new mandate requiring OMNI staff to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. OMNI President and CEO Craig Deligdish says the move is an effort to protect OMNI’s employees and patients from contracting the virus. “We are requiring that all of our employees be vaccinated as soon as they are eligible, providing there are no contraindications” says Dr. Deligdish.

OMNI Healthcare’s new mandate is in accordance with Governor Ron DeSantis’ executive order dated December 23, 2020, which states that during this first phase of vaccine administration, all providers administering any COVID19 vaccine shall only vaccinate the following populations:

·         Long-term care facility residents and staff;

·         Persons 65 years of age and older; and

·         Health care personnel with direct patient contact.

This news comes as OMNI Healthcare celebrates the successful rollout of its initial COVID-19 vaccine distribution in Melbourne. OMNI employees helped administer 2,000 doses of the vaccine in January and again in February to complete the two-shot series of the Moderna vaccine. Two-thousand second-dose shots were completed in just two days.

Many visitors who came to the office for the shots from across the state raved about what a smooth and simple process it was to navigate getting the vaccine. Dr. Deligdish thanks OMNI employees for coming together and providing excellent customer service to patients. “Receiving the vaccine was a very emotional moment for many people and I’m glad we helped make that experience a positive one. All the great feedback we’ve gotten is a reflection of our staff’s dedication and commitment to providing patients with excellent care,” he added.

The recent vaccination event was held at 1344 S. Apollo Blvd. in Melbourne but OMNI Healthcare plans to expand its vaccine clinics to locations throughout Brevard County as soon as additional vaccine supply is available. OMNI Healthcare has scheduled 10,000 appointments for eligible patients and is prepared to schedule the 20,000 additional patients on its waiting list.  In the meantime, OMNI staff remains ready and able to vaccinate thousands of patients per day.
