 Lake Nona Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery expands services to patients seeking weight loss solutions through the 20-year expertise of pioneering surgeon, Keith Kim, MD 

 

HCA Healthcare’s North Florida Division – Orlando Market has announced the addition of internationally renowned bariatric surgeon Keith Kim, MD, to the team at Lake Nona Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery.

A board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Kim specializes in minimally invasive weight loss surgery. He has over 20 years of experience and has completed more than 6,000 bariatric surgeries. A recognized pioneer in his field, Dr. Kim developed a technique for the performance of totally robotic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass that has been taught globally, and has since completed more than 2,000 minimally invasive robotic surgeries using this technique. He has performed demonstrations of his robotic procedures worldwide.

Dr. Kim received his medical degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his general surgery residency at University of North Carolina Hospitals. He assisted in the authorship of one of the first comprehensive textbooks on the use of robotics in general surgery and has since authored or co-authored eight book chapters, twelve peer-review articles, and over 100 published abstracts on the subject.

Dr. Kim is affiliated with UCF Lake Nona Medical Center, HCA Healthcare’s newest hospital located in Orlando’s Medical City.
