MELBOURNE - OMNI Healthcare is accepting walk-ins for the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine and Booster shots at its mass vaccination clinic located on the second floor of 1344 South Apollo Boulevard in Melbourne. No appointment is necessary. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. OMNI is also administering booster shots at all OMNI offices by appointments made by phone, online registration, or text. All OMNI vaccination locations have adequate vaccine to meet the demand. All Florida residents aged 18 and older are now eligible to receive any Covid-19 vaccine as approved under the Emergency Use Authorization by the Food and Drug Administration.

Demand for the Covid-19 vaccine is expected to increase as the delta variant continues to surge in Florida and in response to the recent approval by the FDA and CDC of Booster shots. Today the CDC recommended an extra dose of Covid-19 vaccine for the following immunocompromised individuals:  those who have had an organ transplant have cancer, diabetes, are undergoing dialysis, have HIV or an inherited disease that affects their immune system. This follows an announcement late Thursday night, by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration which amended the emergency use authorizations (EUAs) for both the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine and the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine.. Boosters have not yet been recommended for the general population in the United States, but are being administered to seniors in France, Germany and Israel.

Although appointments are not necessary at the walk-in clinic, anyone interested in getting their Covid-19 vaccine may book an appointment if they prefer. OMNI offers automated online scheduling among several options. Online scheduling allows the public and OMNI patients to easily book, or reschedule, their vaccine appointments at any of OMNI’s several offices and mass vaccination sites throughout Brevard County. To access OMNI’s online registration, visit https://unityphr.com/campaigns/omni/vaccine or text “vaccine” to 844-594-3292.

In addition to the new online registration system, those eligible can also book an appointment by calling the OMNI Healthcare Covid-19 hotline at (321) 802-5515 or by emailing their name and phone number to COVID@OMNIhealthcare.com
