AdventHealth plans to start construction this fall on the site of the former Holy Land Experience property after receiving approval from the City of Orlando. The Orlando Municipal Planning Board approved AdventHealth’s plan to redevelop the roughly 15-acre site and bring enhanced health care services to the Millenia area.

“We are pleased to have received the approval of the Municipal Planning Board, with the City of Orlando, and look forward to beginning work on the property in the fall,” said Kari Vargas, CEO of AdventHealth Winter Garden and the West Orange and South Lake Market, which includes the Millenia property. “We continue to assess the health care needs of the Millenia area, and expect to bring a mix of primary and specialty care that’s convenient and close to home. This could include services such as cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics and women’s and children’s.”

Orlando continues to be one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and AdventHealth will develop a state-of-the-art facility in two phases to serve the area’s health care needs. Phase one includes an emergency room and health park integrated into a single building. An inpatient tower is planned for the second phase of the project.  After receiving approval from the planning board, the next step in the planning process is for the Orlando City Council to approve the planning board’s agenda during the next council meeting set for Mar. 14.

AdventHealth anticipates it will take several months to deconstruct the Christian-themed attraction, which is a replica of ancient Jerusalem. AdventHealth is currently working on a dozen construction projects in the Central Florida Division from Flagler County to Osceola County, to meet the health care needs of the growing Central Florida community.
