After more than 25 years of service with the organization, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies has named Suzanne Worthington as its new president. In her role as hospital president, Suzanne will lead a team of more than 1,700 to provide top tier obstetric, gynecologic and neonatal intensive care to the Central Florida community.

Prior to assuming the role of interim president in June 2022, Suzanne served as chief operating officer of Orlando Health Winnie Palmer and assistant vice president of Orlando Health, where she directed the hospital’s daily operations and supported the team members who have achieved national recognition for their care of patients and their families. Suzanne has also developed and maintained strong relationships with physicians and organizational leaders to help Orlando Health Winnie Palmer serve as a national leader in quality and experience measures.

From her years at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer as chief operating officer, we have seen Suzanne’s incredible passion for working with the doctors, nurses and entire team in delivering great patient care,” said Dr. Jamal Hakim, chief operating officer for Orlando Health. As the hospital’s president, I know she’ll continue that service excellence.

Since 1995, Suzanne has supported a variety of teams including patient financial services, allied health clinicians, support services, physicians and advanced practice providers, physician practice operations and acute care operations. Suzanne earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Florida.

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies is a 350-bed facility dedicated exclusively to the needs of women and babies. The hospital includes comprehensive fetal diagnostics and labor and delivery services, a regional center for neonatal intensive care, maternal intensive care and women’s services. Annually, more than 13,000 babies are expected to be born at Winnie Palmer Hospital, making it the busiest labor and delivery unit in the state of Florida. The hospital is also home to the state’s only in-utero surgery program to repair Spina bifida defects. To learn more, visit www.winniepalmerhospital.com
