Aflac Awards $100,000 Community CareGrant, for Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation

Aflac has awarded a $100,000 Community CareGrant to Libby’s Breast Cancer Foundation in a ceremony held September 22 presenting the check and christening a new park bench.  This grant will fund mammograms and breast health services for underserved and underinsured women and men in Central Florida. 

These Aflac grants address the urgent needs of those living in under-resourced communities across the U.S. and are delivered to organizations that improve the medical outcomes for individuals in their communities.

Libby’s Legacy will use the $100K to increase access to breast health services such as, diagnostic testing (mammograms) and biopsies for underserved and underinsured individuals Central Florida

Notable attendees were Virgil Miller, President of Aflac U.S., and Robin Maynard, Founder of Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Community CareGrant was accompanied by the installation of an Aflac Park Bench on the grounds of Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation. The bench is a physical manifestation of the commitments Aflac makes to education and the support and advocacy to help close the gap. Aflac is installing a park bench in each of the communities where it awards CareGrants.
