A Prominent Florida Mental Health Clinic Is Expanding In Orlando

A prominent Florida mental health clinic is expanding in Orlando. Harmony United Psychiatric Care, a prominent mental health clinic based in Florida, is gearing up to extend its services to address the urgent demand for mental health professionals within the state. In response to recent data from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which underscores the deficiency of mental health resources in areas where 6.39 million people reside, the clinic is taking steps to fill this void by establishing new offices strategically.

Dr. Adil Mohammed, the forward-thinking founder and CEO of Florida mental health clinic Harmony United Psychiatric Care, envisions a substantial growth strategy for the clinic. The expansion will encompass the establishment of offices in Lakeland, Bradenton, Kissimmee, and Orlando, ultimately totaling 13 sites across the state. Each location, ranging in size from 2,500 to 3,500 square feet, will initially hire up to five professionals, with plans to increase the staff to 15 within a span of two to three years.

Importance Of This Florida Mental Health Clinic Expansion

The importance of these new clinics extends beyond the enhancement of mental health services; they also hold the potential to generate employment opportunities. Dr. Mohammed is dedicated to making quality mental health services more accessible to Floridians in response to the growing demand for such services.

Scheduled to open in January, the clinics strategically located in Kissimmee and Orlando, have been carefully planned to cater to the diverse needs of adults, adolescents, and children. They will offer 24/7 on-call services and provide same- or next-day appointments. The Lakeland facility has recently commenced operations, and the Bradenton site is poised to open this month.

Community Health Needs Assessment

This expansion initiative aligns with the findings of the 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment conducted by the Central Florida Collaborative. The report highlights the escalated mental health needs in the region, driven by factors such as the opioid epidemic and the COVID-19 pandemic. The clinic's proactive approach aims to address the heightened acuity of behavioral health concerns, delivering services that are both timely and accessible.

Dr. Mohammed points out that clinics in Osceola and Lake counties currently grapple with a shortage of mental health providers compared to Orange and Seminole counties. This expansion seeks to alleviate such disparities, with a particular emphasis on dismantling the stigma associated with mental health issues.

Harmony United Psychiatric Care

As Harmony United Psychiatric Care expands its presence across Florida, it is not only focused on meeting the immediate needs of the community but also aims to contribute to a broader transformation in addressing mental health concerns through an approach rooted in empathy and accessibility.
