The Center will offer innovative and comprehensive wholeness, fitness and medical services when it opens to the public in early 2019.
The Center for Health & Wellbeing's grand opening is approaching, and memberships for the Crosby Wellness Center are now available at the membership enrollment office.
The 80,000-square-foot Center for Health & Wellbeing, located near Winter Park Memorial Hospital on Mizell Avenue, will bring wholeness, fitness and medicine together in a facility that promotes whole-person, whole-community focus -- a top priority for both the Winter Park Health Foundation and partner Florida Hospital (soon to be AdventHealth).
The Crosby Wellness Center will be the only part of the Center for Health & Wellbeing requiring a paid membership. The one-time enrollment fee of $100, which also includes a health and fitness assessment, will be waived for those who register through Sept. 30. The memberships are:
- Individual - $64 per month
- Student - $48 per month
- Couple - $104 per month
- Senior (62+) - $48 per month
- Senior couple (62+) - $88 per month
- Family (includes three members and access to 'Kids Corner' for child care services) - $139 per month
Members of the Crosby Wellness Center will have access to:
- Two pools: a dedicated lap pool, and one for warm-water therapy and aquatic exercise
- Multipurpose fitness rooms for group exercise classes and yoga
- Fitness floor featuring the latest in cardio exercise and weight-training equipment
"We are thrilled that we are close to the opening of the new Crosby Wellness Center in the Center for Health & Wellbeing," said Deb Watson, executive vice president of the Winter Park Health Foundation. "When we opened the original Crosby Wellness Center in 1989, it was a unique, medically-integrated facility that quickly became a special place to help residents of all fitness levels to get and stay healthy; and now we will be able to do even more."
The heart of the facility will be "The Commons," which will include a healthy café and a conference center for educational classes and other activities.
The medical component of the Center for Health & Wellbeing, anchored by AdventHealth, will include:
- Sports medicine and rehabilitation
- Massage and acupuncture services
- Primary care
- Specialty services for gastroenterology, colorectal surgery, diabetes and endocrinology
"The Center for Health & Wellbeing is so much more than a building. By bringing all components of health and wellness together -- from medicine to fitness to pharmacy and healthy dining -- we're giving the community a unique opportunity to make their health a top priority in the most convenient way," said Dr. Arianna Becker, a family medicine physician whose practice will open in the facility. "It's an innovative approach to whole-person care and we're honored to help our neighbors and partners through their health journey."
The preview center and membership enrollment office, located at 2010 Crosby Way, Winter Park, is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Enrollment center visitors will enjoy a unique view of the facility via a 3D video display.
