The Florida Medical Association (FMA) has released the application deadline and materials for emerging physician leaders to apply for the FMA Leadership Academy. There are a number of local physicians that are graduates of the program including OCMS Past President, Brian A. Nobie, M.D.

Members of the OCMS and SCMS who are members of the FMA are encouraged to apply for the opportunity. The application deadline is June 8th.

The following is an excerpt from the FMA announcement:

The FMA is accepting applications for the 2018-19 Karl M. Altenburger, M.D. Leadership Academy. Designed for FMA member physicians ages 45 and younger, the Academy provides intensive training that doctors need to become effective, strategic leaders. Participants will attend five full-day sessions led by nationally recognized experts. Thanks to generous grant funding from the Physicians Foundation, the FMA's Foundation for Healthy Floridians will cover the cost of materials, speaker fees, lodging and sponsored meal expenses. Click here for more information about the Academy and submit your application here by Friday, June 8.
