Orlando Doctor Receives $50,000 Grant To Further Pediatric Cancer

Hyundai Hope on Wheels presented Dr. Susan Kelly of Orlando’s Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children with a $50,000 Hyundai Impact Award to support her continued research as well as her proven track record in providing excellent patient care to families affected by childhood cancer. Since 2011, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has received $605,000 in funding from Hope On Wheels.

At the event, Orlando Hyundai dealers, doctor’s from Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and families of Orlando-area children affected by cancer took part in the event’s signature Handprint Ceremony. Children affected by cancer dipped their hands in colorful paint and placed their handprints on a white Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, the official vehicle of Hope On Wheels, to commemorate their brave battles with cancer.

Hyundai and its dealers joined the fight against pediatric cancer in 1998. Now in its 17th year, Hope On Wheels remains committed to helping children fight this disease through funding life-saving research and innovative treatments. This year, Hope On Wheels will award 22 Hyundai Impact Awards, 36 Hyundai Scholar Hope Grants and 10 Hyundai Scholar Young Investigator Grants totaling over $11 million to institutions across the country. In 2015, Hope On Wheels surpasses $100 million in donations to pediatric cancer institutions nationwide since its inception.
